Bitcoin jumps 25% on week and hits $50k with support from Tesla, BNY Mellon and other big companies

After a very hectic week and with a lot of positive news, Bitcoin registers slight losses on Friday (12), but still remains close to its historical high of $ 48,745.

Among the largest crypto assets in market value, Ethereum has had a more "calm" movement in recent days, but it is also practically at its historic high, which is US $ 1,826.  This Friday, the asset operates at around US $ 1,800.

The week started off quite hectic, with Bitcoin skyrocketing about 15% after electric car maker Tesla said it bought $ 1.5 billion from the cryptocurrency as the start of a process in which it will start accepting the asset for customers to buy its products.  .In a statement, the company said it made the contribution to "have more flexibility to further diversify and maximize returns on our cash".

Two weeks ago, the company's CEO, Elon Musk, had already raised prices by adding #bitcoin to his Twitter bio.  Two days later, he said on the social network Clubhouse that "right now, I think Bitcoin is a good thing and I am a supporter of Bitcoin".
